Feeling Better!

Addy is finally feeling better! She is still having runny diaper issues but that's to be expected. Now if we could only find the miracle diaper ointment to clear up her red bottom! She is getting down on the floor and playing some now, she was just sitting on the couch and would watch tv. Well, she would watch Chipmunks anyway!

I woke up Thursday morning feeling a little yucky but not too bad. I worked all day and was feeling okay that night. Friday morning was an entirely different story! I was SICK! I was a little concerned that I had picked up Addy's C-Diff. I was sick all day yesterday too so I'm thinking it was just a bug. I am much better this morning!

I think I feel well enough to shopping with my mom in a little while too. She and I are heading out on May 20th to Charleston, SC!! We are really excited! It's just the two of us going! I have never left Addy for this length of time since we've had her! The kids are pretty bummed that they aren't going because our hotel is right on the beach. That's what we wanted, a little getaway on a beach with no plans, no worries! My mom and I are both having surgery this summer so we thought a perfect little vacation to relax and unwind would be perfect. I have been pretty stressed out lately, this year has been tough! Just a few things: Jarika is a Senior, enough said there!, Jarika broke her elbow, Jarika had ankle surgery, my Mom had her back surgery, Jake broke his arm, I'm facing surgery, mom's facing another surgery, boys have had strep repeatedly, Jarika is graduating!, and work this time of year is nuts! I think I deserve a little break and fortunately so did my mom!

C-Diff

Yep, Addy has C-Diff! She hasn't been on antibiotics since January so who knows how she got it! The doc thinks it may be a constant case and she may need maintenance dose of Flagyl daily, we'll see. They will re-test her after the 10 days.

GPS and an Addy Update

Last night the boys performed in their annual spring concert at church. Our children's program is so amazing! Their performance was GPS, God's Plan for Salvation. It was precoius! I did get some recording of Cooper's solo and Jake's rap but my hubby still hasn't installed my video program, hint hint honey! The entire choir was awesome!

I took Addy into the pediatrician today. She was once again running a fever this morning. Her nurse was amazed at how fast she can change. She said at one moment she was smiling and "singing" to Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel (she watches it way too many times!) and then the next thing you know she is laying down moaning and whimpering with a fever! I got a stool sample this morning, it's so handy constantly having medical supplies around! At the doc's office she was in one of her good times and did have some saliva so he wasn't too concerned about dehydration at this point. He had me take the specimen to the hospital for testing. I should know tomorrow if it's Rotavirus or something else. I think it's Rota but I'm no doctor! If the stool tests all come back negative I have to take her back in tomorrow for a cath and they will run more tests to see if it's in her urinary tract. I'm kinda hoping it is Rota so we don't have to do that to her! BTW I have been looking for some Chippetes dolls for Addy and I am not having much luck. Addy doesn't really like dolls but since she thinks the Chippetes are amazing I thought maybe it would encourage a little doll play! So if you know where I can find them let me know! Ebay has several but they are outrageous!

Here she is in a pretty good moment, belly full, tylenol given and watching Jack Hartmann on You Tube. If you don't know about Jack Hartmann, check him out, he is awesome! I have a CD of his and Addy loves his DVDs!

Prom and Addy Update

Tonight we sent Jarika off to her final prom. She went with girlfriends this time which means she will have much more fun!

Addy isn't doing so hot. She's thrown up twice today and her fever hasn't been under 99 since this all started on Thursday. She is beginning to look a little dehydrated so I am trying to push more Pedialyte, which unfortunately is coming back up. I'm pretty sure she has Rotavirus. This is nasty stuff. She's had it a few other time and we end up admitted. I'm hoping that's not the case this time, please pray she can fight this at home!

Somebody is Sick :(

Addy woke up this morning with a temp of 102 and had vomited in her bed. She hasn't thrown up anymore but her temp is staying at least 99 and is going back up to 102. She has only peed once today, please pray for my sweet girl. Check out her shirt, it was Jarika's and it has been on all of my kids :) Under her hand it says "she".

Happy Birthday Jake!

Jake was pretty excited about his birthday today! He got to have his big cast taken off this morning and is now sporting a new shorter cast! He's pretty thrilled that he can straighten his arm, however, his elbow is pretty tender. You can see how irritated his skin is at the elbow, it started bleeding when the cast came off :(

This day nine years ago my precious Avery Jacob entered the world! It was a little stressful, we showed up at the hospital for our scheduled C-Section at 10 and we were told to go to the waiting room and maybe someone would come and get us! Scott is so funny he turned to me and said "Well I was hoping for something a little more than "maybe"!" I was prepped in the recovery room for the surgery! Surgery went well, Avery came out peeing and screaming! I couldn't believe how little he was! The nurse said "He's good size, at least eight pounds." Cooper was 9lbs and 7oz so my little 8lb 6oz baby definitely looked tiny! The little stink nursed quickly after birth and would have nothing to do with eating for 9 hours! The nurse had to give him a bottle at that point, but two hours later he decided mom was okay! The day of discharge the nurse came and told me we couldn't bring him home because his bilirubin was 19.6 and he most likely needed a blood transfusion (I was told that usually happens if the levels hit 20). Fortunately the pediatrician (ironically the same one that let Addy's formula and weight issues go to the wayside) told us to go ahead and take him home, quit nursing, supplement with formula and put him in the sun. We did just that and went to Springfield every two days for a heel stick. His level consistently dropped and he had no problems with his jaundice! My dad always told me don't have more than two kids, you'll be outnumbered. He also HATED the name Avery since there was a punk kid in town named Avery! I LOVED his name, unfortunately he doesn't feel the same and goes by Jake now for the past several months, but that's okay, he's still my Avery! This child of mine is definitely my challenging child, he's strong willed, argumentative, onery, stubborn, ALL BOY and the most intelligent, loving and sensitive child I have ever met! God knew that his brother needed him to get through some of his challenges and he would have a baby sister that would adore him. Happy Birthday Avery Jacob we love you!
