Ugh

I have been trying all morning to make a really cute collage of our 3 Grace's, Zoey, Ella and Addy. I wanted to make cute little t-shirts for all of the girls could have. Shouldn't be this difficult! Well, here's the collage, now just working on getting it to a T!!!

Oompa Loompas

Next weekend Jake and about 125 other kids age 4-18 are putting on a production of Willy Wonka Jr :) Jake is an Oompa Loompa with about 80 other kids!! I can't wait to see the performance I'm sure it's going to be really cute, our little town is full of very talented kids! The past few weekends parents were asked to help decorate things for the set and we just weren't able to. My friend Rissa's, girl scout troop tied up 200 socks this week to tie dye for our Oompa Loompas. They got them wrapped/rubber banded but didn't get a chance to dye them and Rissa was swamped this weekend so I said I would do them. I felt like I needed to something to contribute since my son is in the play! So I started about 7 o'clock and just finished!! (It's 10:15!) Rissa didn't get out of all of the dyeing though, I ran out of dye so she came to my rescue! She went back up to school to her classroom to get all of her tie dying stuff so I would be able to finish them tonight! Thanks Rissa! So now we wait and let the dye set, another parent, actually one of the directors will be washing them and hand them out to kids at Monday nights practice. I hope they are okay! I think they look pretty cool so far!

Weightloss Update

I have really been a slacker when it comes to my weightloss updates! Sorry! There never seems to be enough time or chances to be in front of the camera instead of behind it!! I have lost 65lbs :)

Baby Girl

Look who I got to see this morning! The pic is horrible of me, but oh well! My mom, brother and I went to Joplin this morning to look at a house that we may buy for Jarika and some roommates to live in for the next few years of her college career :) I also needed to check out her car. It got hit in the dorm parking lot on Sunday night. Fortunately the girl that hit her was very honest and contacted campus police and gave us her information. Very fortunate!!! Her car is scratched and dented but not too bad. I'm very thankful that the girl was not hurt and Jarika wasn't in the car. It was nice to see my girl, it seems like forever since I have!! We all went out to Olive Garden too, waay yummy!

Love Day :)

My hubby hasn't sent me flowers in forever so I was quite surprised to find these waiting for me when I was coming in from one of my itinerant visits today! Thanks honey! You made my day!

Addy had her Valentine Party today too. It makes me so sad that she doesn't eat on days like this. Most of Halloween/Valentine celebrations revolve around edible goodies :( She doesn't care at all of course. Maybe by Halloween she'll actually want to eat with her friends!

Saturday morning she gave me a scare. She woke up screaming with a high fever and was acting really out of it. Eyes rolling back in her head, falling asleep during her feed then sleeping an extra 3 1/2 hours after waking up. A febrile seizure is suspected. Once she woke back up she was fine so who knows! She was fine yesterday too so whatever was going on definitely went away :) Yesterday she found her baby legs and was putting them on and off constantly. It was too cute. She won't ever keep them on though, sigh... hopefully someday they will be put to good use!

She also enjoys playing piano on the Ipad, she's pretty proud of herself!

I finally got my birthday present yesterday as well.... Addy and I will be in Cali for the big birthday bash for our girls Ella and Zoey!!! We can't wait!

Ugh, Puke.

It's been one of THOSE mornings today. We did have another snow day today so at least after all of this I didn't lose a sick day :)
Cooper and Addy and I headed to Springfield to take Coop to the dentist to have 3 teeth pulled. Once we were in Springfield Addy started projectile vomiting everywhere! All over herself, her car seat, the van floor etc. Not good! We got to the dentist and I left Addy in the car (locked and running), checked Cooper in and said I would be in the car with Addy since she was sick (I could see the van from the door, so no worries). I went and started cleaning Addy up to realized this was the ONE DAY EVER that I don't have an extra set of clothes for her! UGH! So I start calling people to see if someone could pick up an outfit for Addy and bring it to me. First I call my mom, no answer. I called her cell (which she rarely ever answers because it's usually dead). She doesn't answer it. So I try my sister in law. No answer at home so I try her cell, no answer there either. I call my BFF Susan to see if by chance she is in Springfield today for one of her many doctor appointments or therapies. No answer. So I bite the bullet and try Scott. He is really swamped at work right now and he wasn't available... Then my mom calls me from her cell phone! She was getting her nails done and wasn't able to help. Then Susan calls and unfortunately she's in Marshfield so she can't help but did offer her husband to help out. I knew Cooper wasn't going to be too awfully long so I told her not to bother him. (He would have done it in an instant mind you, he's a gem!) Then my phone rings again and it's the dentist office. They tell me Cooper is in the chair and they need me. Um, okay, I start thinking he's freaking out over the shots (can't blame him there!). So in I go, leaving Addy locked and warm and go in. The dentist told me that the teeth that Cooper needed pulled are already out! What!?!!? He hasn't lost a tooth in forever! He did pull one out two days ago but the others I have no idea what happened to them! Crazy huh? So fortunately he didn't need any pulled but he did have one that needed a sealant. So that was a nice little surprise!
Once he comes out I head to Toys R Us to get some more wipes, Pedialyte and Addy some clean clothes. I knew that would be the fastest place to go and it was. I think that's the first time I've ever been in and out of Toys R Us in less than five minutes! So I got Addy all cleaned up so we could come home. She fussed a little and then fell asleep for the majority of the ride home. Once we got off the interstate she puked all over again :( Poor baby. So we get home and all cleaned up again and I did get a 4 ounce bolus of Pedialyte in her. Thank God for g-tubes!! You can tell she doesn't feel good. I just hope this is a fluke and she's not getting a true bug, she's had enough! We HAVE to go to WIC at 3, she's out of formula. It's only a couple of blocks away and shouldn't take too long, I just hope she doesn't get sick again. I will take extra clothes just in case!

She put the proofs in my mailbox at school yesterday, too bad we are home for a snow day today! Guess I'll have to wait till who knows when to pick them up!

Addysen Update

This morning was downright crazy!!! I did not sleep for squat last night, I guess that's what happens when you turn 40 right? Addy was up quite a bit too, she's been fighting the same gunk that I have been. She's been coughing like crazy at night. Enough to make her gag :(
I was really expecting a phone call this morning that school was cancelled again because the roads are still pretty slick. But, no call. So I got up and got ready for work. About 7, Addy's nurse texted me that her car wouldn't start and she wasn't sure when she would make it to my house. Addy usually goes to school on Mondays but she wasn't feeling well all weekend so I wasn't going to send her. So I let Scott know that we needed to make arrangements this morning, one of us was going to be late to work. Addy woke up and once again had a fever. So I decided I would be the one late, Addy was definitely going into the Ped this morning. So I start Addy's feed, told Jake that I don't want him to ride the bus to school, I was going to take him since the roads were slick still. As we continue getting everyone ready the bus starts up the hill (the same hill I slid down on Friday), low and behold she can't get up the hill, it's still a solid sheet of ice, so glad I didn't let him get on! Fortunately help came and they were able to get the bus up the hill. We live in a very rural area and this was a paved road, I can only imagine what the buses dealt with on the gravel roads! Scott decided he would take the boys to school so off they went. I called and got Addy into the doc at 10 so we didn't have to rush to Springfield. Miss Kim was able to get a new battery installed so I even made it to work for a few hours. We'll have school tomorrow but we have another storm coming tomorrow night so the rest of the week is looking iffy!
In the waiting room waiting to see the doc a mom and dad came in with the most adorable little 15 month old girl named Emily. She happens to be sporting that little something extra too!! She was sooo cute! Her dad gave me their business card so we could chat sometime. I emailed the mommy and hope that we can strike up a nice friendship! Dr. M checked Miss Addy out head to toe. She has my virus. Grr (sorta) I'm very thankful that she doesn't have an ear infection, I really did want to avoid antibiotics (not wanting c-diff again). She's been pushing on her ears all weekend so I was surprised they weren't infected, just some fluid. He wanted me to have Addy drink this tonight before bed:


Well, since she doesn't drink a whole lot by mouth I figured it would be a challenge. Naturally it was but she did take in quite a bit, not a surprise that she loved the tart lemon!



So after dinner she got all cleaned up, a nice warm lotion massage and warm footie jammies (so, not her favorite!). Hoping she has a better night and can get some rest, I know she feels yucky, even though she is still her happy little self!

Happy Birthday

My day consisted of going out to eat a yummy lunch at Chilis, having the most fabulous strawberry cake made by my good friend Annie who is starting her Twenty One Cakes (her little guy has DS too). She made Scott's amazing Geocaching cake too. Then we went to Missouri State to hear the boys sing The National Anthem and a bit of the Lady Bear game.

I'm really not into sports so we left after half time. Then I said I wanted Orange Leaf so off we went. That stuff is so yummy! Definitely ate more calories today than I should have but you only turn 40 once right? So now I get to clean the house, it's a pit. I didn't get anything done during our snow days since I was so sick so I better get busy.

Today is always a bittersweet day for me. I can't help but think of Alice Rebecca Cooper. (No I've never met her and have no idea where she is) The woman who gave birth to me then put me up for adoption. It's the best thing she could have done for me, that's for sure. I always wonder if I have siblings. I imagine I do but who knows. Adoption is such a wonderful thing but there are these feelings as well. I'm so thankful that Addy will always know that her birth parents love her and think about her. She will always know her biological brother. She really has the best of both worlds, she such a lucky little girl :)

Socks

Anyone that knows Addy well knows that she DESPISES socks (and shoes and coats and footie jammie etc.)! So why did a take a picture of Addy's little feet in socks? 1. because she has them on and 2. she put them on all by herself :)

I'm not excited because she put them on by herself, that's not a new skill, I'm excited because she took the initiative to put on socks because her feet were cold and she realized that the socks would make her feet warm! You go girl!
She's still feeling pretty yucky but did sleep better last night. She also woke up fever free so just maybe we can avoid the clinic today. I'm just worried about her getting an ear infection since she has so much junkiness in her head :(

We got about three more inches of snow yesterday, we are drowning in snow. The boys are supposed to sing The National Anthem at the MSU Lady Bears basketball game tomorrow. I'm hoping they are still able to, it's the only plans we have tomorrow and tomorrow's kinda a big deal.

Snowing again

Well, it is once again snowing. Our forecast looks like this:

I have a feeling we're not going back to school for awhile :( I am finally feeling better. I have the majority of my voice back, now I just sound like a heavy smoker! I'm pretty sure Addy has gotten my crud, she started running a fever yesterday and it was up to 103 last night. It's been running around 100 today. I call her ped and they were booked and recommended Claritin to see if that helps with her coughing at night, she's not really coughing during the day except during nap so it sounds more like drainage. (I never ran a temp). If her fever spikes again I'm supposed to take her into Saturday clinic to be seen. Hoping it stays down, I know I can't drive up the hill, I'd have to make Scott take us :) The kids and I packed up to go get the meds and ended up sliding backwards and sideways down this hill:

thankfully no cars came by and we ended up facing back towards home so back we came. Scott can get the meds on his way home from work, we're not risking it! The snow is beautiful and I love snow, I just don't like being stranded and out of school for this long. Thankfully we are just taking it easy so we can feel better. Addy's been requesting to watch Toy Story 3 about a bazillion times, I'm giving in, she feels yucky.

We've watched every Signing Time she has and have spent quite a bit of time playing with her preschool prep stuff on the Ipad, I don't think her minds going to warp too much :)

Snowed in

Well we have about 10 inches or so of snow. We are stuck! Everything around here is closed, it's crazy! Scott had to go into work today so I'm on my own, voiceless with the kids. It's only 10 degrees outside so it's really too cold to go out and play in the wonderful white stuff. The boys are being really good, they are glued to the Xbox. Addy is finally down for a nap, she was fighting it but I really needed her to take one, I am still so sick. I doubt we'll be back to school for a week or so, we have more snow coming on Sunday and Monday. I'm not having to use sick days at least! We are losing most of our Spring Break now which stinks, but that's okay, I'd rather go to school when it's 70 degrees than icy and subzero!

Jarika's college has been shut down too, they got about 18 inches of snow! The interstates have been closed as well, Oklahoma has pretty much shut down and Missouri hasn't been faring too well either! I'm happy to be snug at home, watching Netflix and being lazy so I can get better!

Bring on the Blizzard

Well I am currently snug in my warm house watching the blizzard come to light! We still have power but we are ready if we lose power which is very likely at this point. The storm started with ice and sleet. It's still sleeting now but we are expecting 12-20 inches of snow! Unfortunately I am so sick! I have no voice today so it's a very good thing that everything is pretty much shut down. It's not good for a speech pathologist to have no voice! Addy keeps whispering back to me, it's pretty funny. Too bad I can't LOL! I am happiest that Scott's company shut down today too so he's home to take care of me and the kids :) So check the weather and think of us in SW Missouri, we are getting hammered!
