Our week has been jammed packed once again. Oh I'm so ready for summer so things will slow down at least a little bit! The videos are of Cooper's solo at church on Sunday. Poor thing is suffering from major sinus gunk and he was a little flat, but still amazing. The video of Avery is from his play Tuesday night, BUGZ. He was the Stink Bug (very appropriate I might add!). This is just a little clip of his acting! (ok i just watched this and realized that it copied way more than I wanted it to, please fast forward if you want! :)

Silver Dollar City

We had such a fun and busy weekend! Friday night our entire family went out to a family dinner to celebrate several birthdays. They ranged from January until April. Last fall we did the October, November and December birthdays so it was time to catch up. I guess my niece whose birthday in June will get her own dinner! We went out to Colton's and had a good time. I even took two states with me! Yep, Jarika's boyfriend Utah and her friend Montana joined us! They then went to a movie with my nephew and then went bowling. Utah was holding Addy and then all of the sudden there was a huge crash! Yep, Addy got a bread plate and threw it to the floor! Utah was so surprised that she was so fast! It was funny but we did feel bad that she broke a plate!

Saturday morning we got up way early, not even close to bright (4:30am) to get everyone ready for Silver Dollar City. Cooper had to meet the bus at 6 am to go to his Junior Jays competition! I couldn't believe we all got up and at em but we did! My mom spent the night with us so we could leave Addysen home. We easily could have brought her with us but this was Cooper's thing so she stayed home. Cooper's choir earned perfect scores from all of the judges! How cool is that???

We then headed to SDC after the competition and spent the entire day there. The boys had so much fun! They rode rides and went to Grandfather's Mansion, which Cooper hated the first time through! He went in it again and liked it better. I think it helped that there weren't 20 screaming Junior High girls going through with him like his first visit! If you haven't been in Grandfather's Mansion, it's a trip! You are in a room that is completely slanted and it's nearly impossible to stand up! Pretty difficult for those who have motor issues! The boys loved the American Plunge! I only rode the Lost River.It's my kind of ride but I did get soaked! The boys then played in Splash Harbor/Geyser Gulch and completely drenched each other, it was so fun! Jarika hung out with her friend Emilygrace and got pooped out too! We ended our day with dipping our own candles which the boys thought was pretty cool too. Jarika hadn't done it in ages so she was happy too. Sunday was also very busy, I'll post about it later!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Birthday Avery!

Today my ornery little boy turned 8 years old! Avery is the child that my dad said not to have. He always told me not to have more than two or the parents would be outnumbered! Don't get me wrong, my Dad adored Avery, he was just giving me a hard time. What to say about Avery Jacob? Well, he was named after the little boy in Charlotte's Web, I absolutely love his name! He is so ornery and is all boy. He can be such a toot to his older sister and brother and then in the same second have such a huge heart for his little sister. He is a wonderful big brother to her. Avery loves sports, especially baseball and was thrilled that he got to play a game on his birthday! He seems to always "forget" when he did something that he wasn't supposed to. Drives me nuts! He also throws everything. I mean everything! It also makes me nuts! I have had to get more things off of my ceiling and ledges it's not even funny. If you can't find something, most likely Avery has thrown it and now it is behind the couch, in the couch, on the ceiling fan or down a heat register. He is a delight and I am very proud of him even though, as my dad always said "has me outnumbered!" Happy Birthday Avery!!

Disney, 26 miles and relaxing

This past week has been jammed packed. I had to go somewhere every night last week which made me exhausted! I also hosted Bunco last night so I spent all morning cleaning up and getting ready and it really didn't look very presentable! Thank goodness all of these ladies are good friends of mine and didn't care that my house is a pit! My brother and his family and our family was going to head to the cabin at the lake today to start getting it ready for the summer. However, it has been pouring rain all day. I have been such a bum. I skipped church (since I already thought I wouldn't be here), I did take a shower but I am right back in jammies, I have played on the computer and watched TV. Oh I did do laundry but I don't think of that really as anything since I do it constantly anyway!

Friday night my sister-in-law, Jill and I took the boys and my nieces to Disney on Ice. It was really cute. We were only five rows up so we had great seats and got to see everything. I almost took Addy with me but I am so glad I didn't, it would have scared her I think. We didn't eat before we got there and I told the boys since it was a special night out they could get something at the show. The first thing they saw was snow cones. I thought what they hey, it's a night out right??? I waved down the concession guy and told him 2 snow cones. The boys dug in and I was told "That will be $20." WHAT??? Seriously $20 for two tiny things of ice??? The boys are already started so they were theirs to keep. The guy told me that it came in a really cool Dash cup with an Elastagirl spoon, well worth $10! Yeah right! Oh well, we headed to Burger King after the show!! We really enjoyed it, Avery loved to watch Frozone and Cooper liked when we told the bad robots where to go by pointing the directions for them. Cooper said it was fun because "I'm not allowed to point because it's rude, right mom?" He's too funny!
Cooper also came home from school this week with his Shook Track Pack shirt. Kids earn a shirt by running laps at recess. Once they have run 26 miles they earn a shirt! It's voluntary for kids to do during their first recess. I'm so proud of him way to go Cooper!
Addy was playing on her Little Mermaid car this morning, she's too funny. When she first got it she would scream every time we put her on it. Now she just plays the music and laughs. She can even move it on the hardwood floor. Backwards, but she can move it by herself!

Praying for Petey

A family in our community lost their nine year old boy today. He had been in Cooper's class before so this is going to be tough. He was riding a dirt bike and I believe was hit by a tractor trailer. I don't know full details, but please pray for Dalton "Petey" Baldwin's family.

Avery's first game

Avery finally got to play baseball last night. This was the first game that was supposed to be last Monday but since it was beyond freezing it was canceled! Last night was really nice, just a little chilly for my liking but it was a good night for a game. Our little Blue Jays lost miserably but they had fun. The team they played has been playing together for three years so I think they had somewhat of an advantage! Doesn't he look adorable???

Easter

Saturday we did our traditional dyeing of Easter Eggs. They looked really good! I tried to show Addy her egg that she had put in the dye and she tried to drink it! My tube-fed child that wants nothing to do with food or drink most days decided that purple egg dye would be delicious! (No I did NOT let her drink it!)







Easter was pretty quiet around here. The weather was horrible and my family didn't want to get together to do anything so it was just us. We went to church, Addy sang during the entire service, surprise, surprise and she waved Hi and Bye to everyone. It was so cute. She hated her darling dress but everyone thought she looked beautiful!

Addy got some bubbles from the Easter Bunny that she thought were really funny when Avery was blowing them at her. She would get so excited and laugh and laugh! (Yes her legs always looked mottled like that)

Addy and fun things

I can't believe I haven't blogged this week. I guess it just goes to show how busy my time gets in April and May. Finalizing IEPs, re-evaluations and preschool and kindergarten screenings. Oh the joys! We have also had crazy weather this week, we've had snow (much bigger flakes than what I could capture!) and sub-freezing temps, thunderstorms and glorious sunshine! The Ozarks are always an adventure in the spring!

Anyway, I set Addy down in the rocking chair the other night and she thought it was hilarious! She just laughed and laughed and rocked like crazy! It was so cute! I guess she felt pretty grown up in the big chair!







Addy's OT had some pictures taken today to keep posted so all of the nurses will be doing the same things with her during the day. She really only has two nurses but there is one that works PRN so it's nice to have the consistency! Isn't she doing great!?!?!
