Sigh

Oh when is this feeling going to go away? Grief is so strange, people handle things so differently. Many women at work are hitting the anger stage, it's not pretty. I haven't gotten angry, I'm still in the why stage. Why Leasha? Why this amazing, beautiful young woman that still had so much life to live? I know I've said it before, but there is no one on this earth like Leasha. Things are never going to come close to being the way they were with Leasha as our leader. I absolutely hate that she's not going to be here when Addy starts kindergarten. Leasha adored Addy and Addy adored Leasha. She would always carry Addy around at football games and she always celebrated all of our little victories with Addy's development. Leasha knew my concerns about Addy starting school and she was there for me. Is the new principal we have going to have such knowledge of special education? Will they have the heart for children? I hope so, I guess we'll find out. (I can't imagine our district not hiring someone without those qualities but it has happened). I'm looking like crazy through my computer to see if I have a picture of Addy and Leasha together. So far I haven't found one :( All of the kids and staff received a picture of Leasha so we would all have one. I hung mine up in my classroom behind my chair where I do therapy so I know she is always watching over me. Addy held onto hers yesterday and kept saying "sha, sha, sha". I'm convinced she was saying Leasha, I was really bad about not referring to her as Mrs. DeCamp for Addy lol. Addy has no clue about death but I hope when she's older she'll understand how much Leasha adored her and wanted what was best for her and was one of her biggest fans.
(how can you not love a principal that dresses as Oscar the Grouch, the complete opposite of herself :)

We have Leasha's funeral tomorrow, school is canceled so we will all be able to go. It's going to be a hard day tomorrow but I know several of us are ready for some closure, we have to move on. We may not like it, but I know Mrs. DeCamp would say "Hey chick, get to work!", with a great big smile on her face :)
Leasha's beautiful family. Please keep them in your prayers.

Sending you peace my friend as tomorrow comes and God's grace to cover Leasha's family as they begin to navigate their lives without her.
