Adoption

Many of you know how much adoption has blessed my life. I was adopted as an infant and our sweet Addy came to us at 9 months old. I am so in love with these two precious girls that desperately need homes! If I had the money we would be well on our way but unfortunately it's not in the cards for us right now. These girls are heavy on my heart, please pray that their mommy and daddy go and rescue them soon! To learn more about these precious girls go to http://reecesrainbow.com/ and check them out along with many other orphans that need homes!

I was actually going to ask you about Addie's adoption. We are thinking of adopting to get our girl. I don't necesary have to have a downs kid, but I would love another kid with heart defects, medical problems, or even just DS. We don't have money for a private adoption, so we were thinking of adopting through the foster system, medical kids are much harder to place. What did you do?

If I had the money, I would be there in an instance! I want to adopt a girl with Down syndrome so badly! I think that it's so sad that it costs so much to get these precious children to a good home! Those girls are adorable!

We applied through the National Down Syndrome Society and they connected us with Addy. They don't do the adoptions, they are just the "middle man". Addy's adoption was definitely not as expensive as international but it was still a pretty penny, however, she qualified for an adoption subsidy so quite a bit came back to us. I'm sure it's MUCH cheaper through foster care!

Oh My Gosh! My heart just skipped a beat....or a thousand beats! I "stumbled" upon your blog looking for new DS blogs and my heart sank when I saw Lera's picture! You see, she has been weighing VERY heavy on my heart as well. I have contacted the agency and got the financing for her. God needs to work on softening my husbands heart as he is not 100% there yet. When I saw her here, my immediate response was, "no! no! no!" I thought you committed to her. Hopefully, soon Lera's mommy and daddy will be coming for her and hopefully their names will be Tracy and Mike--lol! Love your sweet baby girl, BTW!
