Well, yesterday pretty much went to down below and a hand basket. I got Addy up in the morning and was getting her dressed and noticed that around her G-button she was bleeding. We have been dealing with her button not looking right all summer. She has been treated with a topical anti-fungal medication, an oral (well, tube) anti-fungal medication and we have used Mylanta all around the button because it is supposed that stomach acid has been leaking out. Nothing has helped! Yesterday not only did it have some blood, it was also really swollen around one side of it. So naturally I made an appointment with her surgeon. Next thing I now Cooper is losing his lunch. Yep, all over EWW! Poor little guy. Cooper did not understand why I wouldn't let him continue eating! He cried and cried and felt like I was punishing him! It was not fun, poor guy had a rough day and pretty much spent it in his bed or hung over the toilet.
So I get Cooper settled and Jarika stayed home with him while Avery and I headed to doctor. Addy's surgeon's nurse practitioner is the one who mainly deals with the g-buttons so we met with her. She was very concerned about the look of her stoma. She really looked it over good and has determined that some scar tissue is what the swollen part is and that is affecting the way the button is fitting. She added some more water to the ballon and then treated the raw area (inside and outside of the stoma) with Silver Nitrate. Addy was not a happy camper. Poor baby just cried and cried, I know that hurt like crazy! Poor Avery was so worried about her. She did recover and now the plan is that we go back on Tuesday to see if it has helped any. If it hasn't surgery is going to be scheduled to remove the scar tissue and to give her a different type of button. I really hope that is not the case! I would hate to have her go through that. I know it would end up being a minor thing, but still!
So I pretty much went to Springfield everyday this week between Jarika's physical therapy, Addy's appointment with the surgeon and cardiologist! So glad Jarika was released from PT today so that will help out next week.
Good news though! Addy saw her cardiologist and he was very pleased with her! She still has a small hole in her heart that is not causing any problems. He feels that her Pulmonary Hypertension is greatly improved and we are now going to wean off of her Viagra and Lasix! Yeah! He is going to see her in about 8 weeks after we have weaned her off and she has been without meds a couple of weeks. This will be so nice! Not that it's a big deal to give her meds, but it will be wonderful to not have to!

Praying for your sweet little girl. Poor Cooper! When it rains, it pours doesn't it?
I am happy to hear about Addy's heart though.:)
Amy
Praying hard that Addy won't need surgery! They used silver nitrate on Kennedy's hickman line when it got all infected and stuff. Please keep us posted!
