My baby girl turned 2 today! We were sooo busy she is pooped out! We got up early and went to Avery's last soccer game of the season then headed to Nixa to meet the rest of the family for the Davis/Heflin fall birthday extravaganza. We celebrated Kory our newest teenager!, Addy, Uncle Kent, Daddy, and our cousin Laura who is turning 8! We went to a Mongolian Bar-B-Que Buffet and it was really good! Then we went to Grandmama's house and did a few jobs for her and then went to Toys-R-Us to spend our birthday money from her! Addy got an Ariel ride on toy (to help with trunk support) a pair of jeans, an outfit and a onesie that says "I am the Princess", and an adorable pair of brown and pink boots! Addy loved pulling the tissue paper out of her gift bags and she LOVED the Penguin that her aunt Jill and uncle Kent and her cousins got her! Mamaw (Scott's mom) got her an adorable Glo-Worm and we got her a really neat shape sorter with big pieces so she can grab them easier. She also got some textured little balls that are pretty cool because she can throw them far! A monkey tree ball spiral thing that she could have cared less about and Grandmama (my mom) got her her very first Madame Alexander baby doll. She is adorable! She wasn't very thrilled with her cake but I think it's because between the Pumpkin Patch yesterday and all of the running today, she is just exhausted. I'm so thankful that God chose us to parent this wonderfully, amazing, precious bundle of life that we love so much. Happy Birthday Addysen Grace, we love you soooo much!

Day 17 of 31

Addy and I just got back from the Pumpkin Patch. Did I take my camera? NO I forgot it! So these are pix once we got home, she is one tired little pumpkin! My friends took tons of pictures of her so hopefully I can upload them next week. Her shirt says "Mommy's Little Ghoul", pretty appropriate for a speech pathologist's child dontcha think???

I know this pick is blurry but you get the idea, Addy was pulling Avery's hair. What are little sisters for right?
Avery was doing his reading homework and thought he'd read to Addy while she was in the kitchen "cooking" with me. How cute are they???
It finally felt like fall around here! I put Addy in a long sleeved outfit and boy was she not happy! I spent all afternoon getting her sleeves out of her mouth! She kept pulling on them and screaming, I don't think she was very happy about them! She's just gonna have to get used to it though, I'm thinking this weather may actually stay this time yeah!

Addy went in for her cardiology appointment today. He wanted to recheck her after she had been off of her Lasix and Viagra for three weeks. Her echo cardiogram today was NORMAL! Woo Hoo! There was no evidence of any Pulmonary Hypertension (which is not a surprise) and the hole in her heart is so tiny that it was impossible to measure the leakage now! That is so great! He did ask me what was going on with Addy touching her neck. I told him that we have no idea and she does it all of the time. He said go ahead and check with her pediatrician. I will of course. Then he said "Well Down syndrome kids are wierd.They do strange stuff all of the time and you never can predict them." AHHH! I know he didn't mean if offensively but ugh!
Her home health nurse called was trying to schedule her Synagis vaccines and wanted me to check with her cardiologist about whether or not she needed them this season. He said there is no reason for them this year from a cardiac standpoint so I'm supposed to contact her pulmonogist to see if he wants her to have them. I hate her having to get shots but I know I hate the hospital more. So I guess I'll just wait for pulmonogist to get back with me to see if we need to schedule the injections.

You know how most people will say that everyone with Down syndrome is always happy? Well I have to admit that is pretty much true with Miss Addysen. She is such a good natured child. She is usually extremely smilely and happy. Don't get me wrong she gets very upset when her little bottom is raw from antibiotics (who wouldn't though right?) and she doesn't like being told "no". She does make the cutest little pouty face though! She doesn't have to be told much (yet) but when you do tell her not to grab her nebulizer tube she will give you the saddest little face. Her bottom lip is able to come out very far! So to go along with the whole 31 for 21 thing and trying to blog about DS I just thought I would say that the myth that all are happy all of the time... well I'll say that with my daughter it is more than 95% of the time!
