Health news

I got a call from Dr. Pediatrician today and Addy's CBC was normal, Electrolytes were normal, Blood Sugar was slightly elevated at 122 and still waiting another week for Celiac Panel. I then immediately got a call from Ms. Dietician and we go in next Thursday. When we went over her diet she told me that the formula she is on (Enfamil Prosobee Next Step) is NOT to be used as a sole from of nutrition!!!!! It is to be used as a supplement! You would think that at least one of all of the doctors this child has seen would have known this!!!! So I'm pretty positive next week will have a new diet! She is also ordering a test for food allergies since it's pretty apparent she has a milk allergy. She was "diagnosed" with this just by history, no "proof" so we will probably look into that further next week as well. So I feel pretty good about the plan right now, I just feel horrible that she has been on this formula for almost two years and shouldn't have been!

two years on the wrong formula, how did her doc not realize that. Well at lesat now you should be on the right track.Good luck. hope she starts gaining quickly.
I'd love to switch places with her. Maybe I should try formula!

We've had this problem before with Gavi. I think that if doctors know that a child has a lot of doctors then someone must be taking care of the little things, like feedings.

I was so relieved when a nutrionist was added to Gavin's LONG list of medical providers! Ours has been such a help to me! Hopefully yours will be too! I bet Addy will be gaining weight before you know it!

BTW, Gavin's nutritionist put him on a blenderized diet called Complete Pediatric. It is dairy free and it has actual food, such as chicken, peaches, etc., in it. It comes in a can like Pediasure does. Gavin has done really well on this and it makes me feel good knowing that he is getting actual foods that we would eat, only they are in liquid form.

Have a great weekend!

Oh No Cammie, that is really so sad to hear. At least it looks as though she has been developing based on you blog. I am sure she will be able to make up for lost time soon enough. On the bright side, at least you have some answers!!
