Princesses and Football

Last night was Grandparents Night/Open House at school. There is always a book fair and Grandmama is always willing to buy the kids books! We picked out this little pink board book that is called My Pretty Pink Purse, Addy LOVES it! She won't even let me look at it with her! It has glittery jewelry in it and it's bumpy and has Princess stuff that is silky and shiny she really likes touchy feely books so she is in heaven!

Tonight I took a couple of shot of the littles before the ball game, how cute are they?

Updates

Well Addy had more runny hiney yesterday morning so Dr. Pediatrician wanted to see her again. So I left work at 1 and picked Cooper up from school, came home and packed Addy up and headed to Springfield. Addy weighed 19lbs 6 oz so down 6 oz. from last Wednesday. So the doc ordered a urine and stool sample. He put one of those bags on her for the urine sample and said if it had any poop in it that it would be contaminated so we may be looking at doing a catheter. Lovely. So after we leave the pediatrician, we go and pick up Jarika's senior pictures that are absolutely AMAZING! I will get to those in another post! Then we ran by my mom's to see her a bit, then Cooper, Addy and I headed to the dentist for him to have 4 teeth pulled! We had to wait awhile which is unusual, but it was okay, he did great! I was so proud of him! He usually needs nitrous oxide for dental procedures but he handled the Novocaine shots! He had to have them pulled because his mouth is really crowded and his permanent teeth were trying to come in all sorts of ways around the baby teeth so out they came! We get home just before a HUGE thunderstorm hit! Poor Jarika got caught in it in Springfield but was okay thank goodness! I went to change Addy and lo and behold, a tee tiny bit of poop was in the urine bag, but no urine! So I threw it away since there was really nothing to salvage and I figured I'd just get her sample later. The child has not pooped since! Wouldn't you know, I complain because she's pooping too much and now that I need her to she isn't! Don't I have a fun life!?!? Well I'll wait her out until the morning then I'm gonna call the doc to let him know what's going on, I'm sure her body is just readjusting again. Poor thing! At least she is happier today than she has been. She's been so lethargic, but that was much improved today. I went to the doctor today and I have a Ganglion cyst on my hand at the knuckle on my index finger. At least he thinks that's what it is, it's not following the typical pattern. Shocking isn't it?!?! Well, all the kiddos are asleep and I'm gonna join them!

About Me

As many of you can tell we are a busy family. We go through times where it's very difficult and feel that there's no way we can get through. However, I am blessed to be a Christian and I know that no matter what God is with me and my family and we will pull through. This past week I had a talk with God that I was at my max and I would appreciate it if he wouldn't trust me so much. Well, Jarika fractured her elbow that same night. God has much more faith in me than I do that's for sure! Thankfully, Jarika is getting treated and she will recover soon. Was it easy for me to face this? By in no means! I was stressed, a lot. I've had Addy on the brain for several weeks now watching her get sick over and over trying to get her healthy and we have to face the fact that Jarika may be facing another major surgery on her ankle, and now her elbow is broken! I fortunately have an awesome husband that is extremely supportive and we work as a team. Believe me, there are days when I am frustrated with our life, but it's our life and we are going to live it to the fullest. I'm often told "I don't know how you do it." You know what... neither do I but I do. Fortunately I have the patience of Job, seriously, I do. I don't sweat the small stuff and I look at challenging things that happen as "this is life". My dad always told me "It's not what happens to you, it's how you handle it." I believe this fully. This past week, honestly sucked. Sick kids and an injury are not fun but we got through. Scott and I both had to leave work early on Wednesday to get the girls where they needed to be. Not the most convenient thing but it worked out thankfully! I do have my down in the dumps times believe me! Friday night Jarika was being such a royal pain the butt (nice huh?) and I was so irritated with her! I knew she was hurting but the way she was acting was unacceptable. We had a talk about it and she straightened up but it still got to me! I do have times when I think that I am a horrible mother and have totally screwed up my kids, I know all moms feel that at times so I get over it and realize that that's not true. You do too, you know it! So all of you that have asked how I do it or do I ever take time for myself here's the only way I know how to answer. I do it because I have faith in our Lord who blessed me with this family. I will get through these tough times even though there I times I seriously doubt it. I honestly don't get a lot of "me" time but it's ok. I do spend time with my friends once a month for Bunco and have a blast. I have a full time job and I love it so that is time for "me" as well. It's definitely busy but it's what I do to help support my family. So if you ever wonder what you could do for me, just pray, maybe you can convince Him that I've had my fill for awhile!

"Sigh"

Well once again we have had "issues" these past few days! Addy was ok Thursday throughout the day then was vomiting Thursday evening, very lethargic yesterday and today. Dr. Pediatrician called to check on her and is still puzzled as to why she keeps getting sick. Very loose stools but doing ok today. We are back up to full feeds of Prosobee, but very slow. Hopefully Monday the doc will be able to go ahead and send the order for the Elecare because this obviously not a reaction to it, she would have reacted last weekend, not two days after she was off of it!

Yesterday was Homecoming and Jarika did AMAZING at the pep rally! I was so proud of her, just flipping away she looked awesome! I have it on video but haven't uploaded it yet. Last night at the game the girls performed their routine during half-time. She was once again, awesome! After they performed her coach needed me. She was standing with Jarika and she said that she hurt her elbow when she was doing a back handspring! NOOOO! We are still in the process of getting her ankle worked out! So the trainer checked her out and iced for 20 minutes then re-checked it. No change, still hurting and swollen. So waited another 8 minutes, no change. So she called in to the Friday Night Sports Clinic (very handy I might add! just athletes, btw. they had seen no football players, just cheerleaders last night!) and we got checked in at about 11 pm and found out that yes indeed, Jarika has a left radial head fracture in her elbow! So now she has a partial cast and sling until next Thursday when we go back to have it x-rayed again to see if it is healing or needs surgical help. The doc doesn't think so thank goodness!









So here is Jarika before the dance tonight sans cast so we can get some good pix! She is supposed to keep it on tonight but can remove it if she isn't dancing so I pray she is responsible and doesn't go without it just because it's a pain!

Sick Again Again

Well, wouldn't you know, yesterday Addy tolerated full 100% Elecare feedings all day. I gave her 4oz. water bolus and she spit some of it up. It definitely wasn't a vomit, just spit up. She had her last 4 oz feeding last night and was fine. She was sweaty throughout the day and lethargic, but otherwise ok. She had to have Prosobee today because our sample of Elecare was gone. She was fine until 10 am and she fell asleep on the floor. At her 11:00 feeding she got in 171 mL then started projectile vomiting. Her nurse called me and I told her to stop feeds and let me know what happens. She had two really loose stools and vomited three more times. I came home at 2 to take Jarika to the ankle surgeon (she is dressed all in black for Senior color spirit day for Homecoming week), Scott came home to keep Addy. Doctor called at 2:30 and wanted to see her at 4 so Jarika and I go one way and Scott and Addy go the other.
Jarika Update:
Jarika got a new ankle brace, weighted x-rays and is having and MRI scheduled for sometime in the next couple weeks so we are still in a waiting game!
Addy Update:
Doctor thinks that her system is messed up due to the changed feedings etc. Her electrolytes are probably off. Was not dehydrated at the time, making tears and saliva. Ordered blood word so off we all went to the hospital and we will get results back tomorrow so for tonight we are giving her 2 oz. of Prosobee every 2 hours and he will call tomorrow with results. The GREAT news though is this:.......
Weight 19lbs. 12 3/4 oz!!!! Woo hoo! Even having three days of vomiting in the last two weeks she has gained over a pound since August 19th!

We are up to 50% Elecare and 50% Prosobee today! We are feeling good too!
