Addy and fun things

I can't believe I haven't blogged this week. I guess it just goes to show how busy my time gets in April and May. Finalizing IEPs, re-evaluations and preschool and kindergarten screenings. Oh the joys! We have also had crazy weather this week, we've had snow (much bigger flakes than what I could capture!) and sub-freezing temps, thunderstorms and glorious sunshine! The Ozarks are always an adventure in the spring!

Anyway, I set Addy down in the rocking chair the other night and she thought it was hilarious! She just laughed and laughed and rocked like crazy! It was so cute! I guess she felt pretty grown up in the big chair!







Addy's OT had some pictures taken today to keep posted so all of the nurses will be doing the same things with her during the day. She really only has two nurses but there is one that works PRN so it's nice to have the consistency! Isn't she doing great!?!?!

Our Weekend

This was one of those jam packed weekends for us! Friday night I headed to Springfield with the boys and our friend Landry and went to a birthday party for Kellan. They had so much fun jumping in the inflatables, playing air hockey, video games and stuffing themselves with pizza, cake and ice cream. They even had a rope/ladder type contraption too.

Saturday morning Jarika had to meet the bus to go to a choir competition. Utah and I headed out shortly there after. We went to Camdenton, it is such a pretty place very close to Lake of the Ozarks. I really wanted to go to the outlet mall but it just wasn't in the budget, oh well. It was a really nice drive and the choir did really well. The concert choir scored a 2 and the honors choir got a 1 so yeah! This is Jarika nd her friend Erica, they have been buddies since kindergarten.
Saturday was gorgeous, in the upper sixties and sunny. It was really windy but still a very nice day. Today it was overcast and rainy and the temps were dropping all day. We are now under a freeze watch until Wednesday and they are calling for snow tonight! This morning the boys had to sing at church. I couldn't get a good picture of the both of them because Mrs. Karen kept standing in front of Avery :) so here they are before they sang!
This afternoon was the big church Easter Egg hunt too. Cooper didn't want to go because it was so cold. So just Avery and I took off, I didn't want to get Addy out in it either. Fortunately they hid the eggs inside so Cooper should have gone but it's okay, Avery shared his loot!
I have seen so many gains with Addy these past couple of weeks. I am finally seeing my little girl again. Her last illness really threw her for a loop. I am so thankful she is doing better! I caught this video on my digital camera so it isn't the best but it recorded what I wanted to show. Addy obviously has a particular song she likes, can you tell? Sorry it only shows her back, she wouldn't do it if she knew the camera was on, typical huh?

Random stuff

Jarika and Utah are scaring me. I think they are going to have buy a house in the country with about a million acres to house all of their animals! They now have two hamsters and two bunnies. They are adorable I must say, however, our house (and Utah's, they are sharing physical custody) is beginning to look like a zoo! Here are some pix of their latest addition, Thumper. Addy isn't impressed, but Bella, our dachshund was very interested in it!

I thought I would try giving Addy a bath in my spa tub. It's a corner tub and it's nearly impossible to reach her but I thought I would give it a try since she has just about outgrown her blow up tub. I don't have a regular tub upstairs and honestly, Jarika's tub downstairs would need to have a major overhaul before I would let Addysen sit in it! This is what she thought of the whole experience.

Addy is doing a tiny bit better with food. She loves things that are salty. She really enjoys these massive pretzel sticks. She licks them and then accidentally some gets into her mouth and she throws it away. It's too funny!

Oldies but Goodies

I was going through old pix and found the ones of Addysen the first time we met her and our first week home. She was nine months old at the time. She is so chunky in these pix! The top three pictures are in Minnesota and the bottom ones are from the first few days home. She doesn't look like a baby anymore, she's looking like a little girl now!

Addy's many tubes

Addy got changed back to a Mic-Key button today! Yeah! We are excited about it. It was removed in December since her skin was really reacting to it. So a Bard button was placed. We have hated it. The only thing I like is that it laid much flatter but it leaked constantly! The extension wouldn't lock so she was constantly pulling it out, or we would accidentally when we would pick her up. So we are very thankful to go back to the Mic-Key. I'm hoping that her skin will heal and toughen up but you never know with her skin! Check out the tube from when we brought her home, it was a beauty huh? This was the first time that we had given her a bath too. We had just flown home and we trying our hand at this bathing thing with her two colostomies and her massive tube! She has changed so much! She's going to get weighed this afternoon, I really hope that she has put on some more weight, but by the looks of her ribs I doubt it's much :(

Why you should never mess with stray animals
