Day 30 of 31

We are fortunate enough to have tomorrow off of school so the boys had their Fall Parties today. Cooper's school's theme is Sports so they were to all dress up as team players. He obviously went as a football player, easy! Avery's school participated in the K-3 grade costume parade. Avery is Obi-Wan Kenobi this year, he loves his costume. I don't care for masks but he loves it! I put in a picture of my friend Debbie aka. the Mad Scientist. I'm pretty sure she is Gene Shalat's twin!

I thought I would include some adorable pix of Addy too of course!

I don't get tagged much so this is exciting! I've been tagged by Shawndi84 at www.awrighta.blogspot.com. I'm supposed to share six things you might not know about me. Addy's answer's will be in pink and Cammie's are going to be in brown.

1. My favorite thing to watch is Blue's Clues and CMT Country Music Videos! I especially LOVE Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts!
A couple of my favorite things to watch is Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, House Hunters and the news (lame I know!)

2. I absolutely LOVE my big brother, Avery. I think it's hilarious when he is just in the room!
I absolutely LOVE ALL OF MY FAMILY!

3. I love going anywhere in the car! When we step out the front door I know that I'm getting to go and I can't stop clapping!
My favorite thing to go and do is shopping at scrapbook stores or Target!

4. I don't like eating. It's gross and hard and I think it is a waste of time.
I really despise sitting through meetings that have nothing to do with my occupation!

5. My favorite things to do are read books and and hit my dog. No I meant pet my dog!
I love to scrapbook and read. I read all of the time, I need to scrapbook more but I've been distracted by blogging lately!

6. If I could... I would crawl and walk and talk! Well, I CAN, I just haven't yet!
My dream job would be staying at home with my kids full time or teaching sign language to chimpanzees!

Not too much to blog about tonight. I am exhausted, we had parent teacher conferences tonight. I met with a few parents and then went to Cooper's conference. He is doing really well and his teacher has had no concerns which is great! Avery's teacher and I just corresponded through email since I see and talk to her all of the time. He's doing great too. Don't you love it when people brag on your kids??? I know I do!

When I got home Avery and I finished reading one of his Magic Tree House books, he loves those and they are so fun! Addy enjoyed listening to Avery read tonight too. Well off to bed, I'm beat!

Day 27 of 31/Happy Birthday Kent!

Today is my OLDER brother's birthday, Happy 41st Kent!!!

I took Addy to the ENT today for a 6 month follow up/check up. The ear tubes are still where they are supposed to be so no concerns there. I asked him about her neck pushing thing. I just can't give it up can I??? Anyway, guess what!?!?!? He believes Addy is having reflux. Yeah, someone is finally going to try to do something about it! So he wrote a script for Zantac and I'm supposed to see if it makes a difference. If it does, great, if not, no big deal at least we gave it a try. I also received a call from her pediatrician, her G-button culture was not growing staph, thank goodness. Just typical things from a g-button, stomach acid and a little bit of fungus (eww). It's getting much better so no antibiotics, we'll just continue to Diflucan until it's gone and then just wait and see and apply Malox to the skin too to cut down on acid burn. Poor baby!

Day 26 of 31

I just got an email from my friend Shelley and we raised $926.25 at our Bunco Tournament yesterday! Woo hoo! That is so awesome!

Jarika told me today that I haven't blogged about her lately. She's right, I really haven't. So even though I am blogging daily this month for DS awareness, this blog is about our family so here goes!

After church today the kiddos and I headed to the store. Scott went to the lake with my brother to close down the cabin and winterize the boat and jet ski. So the five of us went to the store and Jarika decided that she wanted to make tomato basil pizza. It's really good! She doesn't like tomatoes so she made half of it plain. Anyway, here are pix of her and Avery making the pizza (Avery was pretty much just there getting a drink but anyway...).

Part of the BUNCO BABES Relay Team!

Today is not an easy day. Today marks the 2nd Anniversary of my father's death. He fought colon cancer and multiple myeloma for four years before he passed away. This time last year my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately it was caught early and after undergoing a lumpectomy and radiation she is currently cancer free. Today my Bunco Babes team for Relay for Life held our second annual October Bunco Tournament. We always hold one in May and last year decided to add October since it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. We had about 40 women participate this year! I'm not sure of our totals yet but I think it was a big success.

During our half time break, my friend Tracy had her hair cut (by about 10 inches) and donated it to Pantene to make wigs for cancer survivors that cannot afford a wig. She looks adorable and it is such a great cause!

We have awesome basket raffles and my friend Cara won three of them! She did donate one of them back so someone else got to win!

So today I played and raised money in memory of my father and in honor of my mom. I miss my dad so much and can't believe that he has been gone for two years. I have a pin on my sweater with a picture of my dad that says "Why I Relay". I only have one pin so I don't have one for my mom but I am going to put a picture of the both of them to wear next June during Relay for Life. (Yes my dad has on an indian headdress, he was part Cherokee Indian and was very proud!)

Day 24 of 31/ 2-Year Check Up

We had Addy's two year check up today. She weighs a whopping 19 pounds and 13 ounces and is 32 inches long! The spot on her eye I mentioned yesterday was just a broken blood vessel that the doc said she most likely did to herself with a toy or something. He had no other concerns at all! He did culture her g-button site though since it is STILL not looking good. Maybe something will be found that requires a different treatment. I just want it to stop bothering her poor thing! Once again I got nowhere with the pushing on her neck concerns. He felt all around and felt nothing abnormal and told me not to worry. Okay, I'll try.

I go to our last home football game tonight. It's going to be FREEZING! I'm not looking forward to that at all, we have been very lucky this year. Jarika won't be cheering because of her elbow but that's okay, it needs to rest.
