It's GOTCHA DAY!

It was one year ago today that Scott and I flew home from up north with our beautiful daughter. We had been waiting for over two years for this angel to come into our life. She was a dream come true. I can't believe it's been a year since she was placed with us, it seems like she's always been in our family. I'm sorry this montage is long, but it was so hard picking out pictures for it! I wanted to use them all but of course I didn't. I am so thankful that she is here and a huge part of our family!

What to do when it's well over !00 degress!

Emma

I have mentioned precious little Emma before and her picture is also at the side of my blog. I am proud to call Emma's momma, Meredith, my friend. I have not met them in person, however we did try on my trip to FL. Anyway, Emma was adopted from Ukraine in March and was blessed to be placed with her forever family. Emma's parents knew that she had a heart defect when they were bringing her home, although did not know the severity. This family has been on a roller coaster concerning Emma's health. She has had some difficulties with her heart condition and will be having open heart surgery tomorrow morning. This is actually earlier than first scheduled, but due to Emma's declining health it was necessary to move it up. Emma has three siblings (two also with Down syndrome, her brother Micah, was also adopted from Ukraine with Emma) that will be waiting for her arrival back home with a new heart and I know they will miss her while she is at the hospital. Please pray for the Cornish family as they face a major surgery for Emma. There is risk of having difficulty coming off of the bypass machine and ventilator. These surgeons, doctors, nurses and everyone else involved in repairing Emma's heart need prayers for her success. New Stuff!

Addy got new bangs!

She looks so much older now! :(

She also got a new set of wheels! Her PT brought over a new gait trainer for her. Right now we are just using it like her stander to get her used to baring weight on her legs. She is just a tad too short but with her tennis shoes on it doesn't make a difference. I am thrilled that she enjoys this position. I'm not ready for her to walk (which is quite awhile away!) but I'm so excited to see the progress she has made. She's still just crawling a bit backwards but she's still getting up on all fours and rocking so that's a great sign!

This weekend is no state tax in Missouri so Jarika and I headed to Springfield for school shopping. We hit Kohls first so I could get some things for the boys and Addy. Naturally Addy got more than the boys but they got some great new things to start school in. Last fall/winter I had a terrible time finding Addy pajamas that she could wear that didn't have feet in them. We had her feeding tube and her O2 tube that we had to deal with and we just ran them through her jammies but it was hard to find them without feet so the tubes could come out. I found some adorable jammies today with no feet for this winter! Yeah! I'm so happy, we now only have the feeding tube to deal with but I like having it come out of her jammies at her feet so there's a smaller risk of her having it wrapped around her neck! Fortunately with the Pulse Oximeter I would know if it happened, but at least this will make it easier! Jarika found some adorable clothes at the mall and was very excited. She even found a couple pair of shoes. That's on my list for tomorrow for the boys. After church, it's shoe shopping time. Tonight the boys and Addy and I went to buy their school supplies while Daddy went to a movie with a buddy. Our little town is completely out of folders with pockets and brads so I guess I'll check when I head to Spfld again tomorrow. But we have everything except those couple of things so I'm happy!

Bath Time

I love bath pix so I took some of Addy last night that are pretty darn cute! Avery wanted to rock Addy to sleep. I don't he succeeded! Not much else going on around here, just enjoying my last few weeks at home and the boys are going to VBS which they are loving!
I am so tired today and in pain. I had to get some cortisone shots in my shoulder this morning due to tendinitis. I was hoping I would instantly be healed, um no. Hopefully by the weekend!
