Dyeing Easter Eggs!

Jarika and Avery love to dye Easter Eggs, Cooper not as much but he does participate! We put Addy up on the table in her Bumbo, I know not safe but I promise we were all RIGHT THERE! She loves to be in the action with her brothers and sister and she just kept grabbing at everything so we gave her her own egg to play with. She had a blast chucking it to Avery and tossing it everywhere. It was pretty funny. I finally gave her some plastic eggs after hers finally cracked!

The flood, Cooper's Bday, Addy's Eye Doct

These are the things that were in our storage room. They are now taking over my whole basement on the parts that aren't wet!

This is how the majority of the boxes looked from this room. Unfortunately some of my favorite SnowBaby dolls were in this box, as you can see by the water stains, they are pretty much destroyed.


Well everyone we are flooded! YUCK! Our basement storage room filled with the lovely stench of sewer and ruined tons of stuff in it. It has not been pleasant at all. Now we are waiting for the insurance adjuster to come and take pictures and such and then spend quality time writing down everything that was ruined! UGH!




I took some pix of Lake Springfield yesterday and they're pretty impressive, usually there is a long island type fishing place where people fish all of the time and now it's all underwater. We went to Springfield yesterday to celebrate Cooper's 9th birthday! We went out to CiCi's Pizza per Coop's request and then went and saw Horton Hears a Who. It was really cute! It was nice to get out of our stinky sewer smelling house for awhile!
Today I took Addy to the eye specialist and at first glance he thought that she was going to need glasses but after dilation and a closer inspection he thinks we can hold off! Yeah! He laughed and said he was glad we didn't need glasses because her nose and ears are so small it was going to be a miraculous feat to keep them on her tiny little face! We go back in 6 months and we just have to watch the crossing for now.

Earlier this week I got to meet with the Social Worker that is handing our Adoption Subsidy and I found out such great things! I'm not going to go into detail but so many benefits are coming to us and we feel so thankful and blessed! I just thought she would keep her supplemental Medicaid and have some adoption fees waived! I never imagined that we would have even more benefits!

I finally have time to update!

Yesterday we only had a half a day of school so I got to come home just in time to see Addy with her developmental therapist, Karen. We love Karen! She is so awesome and is great with Addy, and every other child for that fact. Anyway, they had been coloring with markers and such and I got here just in time to get pix of Addy's first exposure to fingerpaint! Needless to say, our sensory issues definitely came out! She tolerated the hand over hand, but would not touch voluntarily!




Well as you know I was out of town last weekend and missed Cooper's last basketball game of the season, fortunately Daddy remembered to take pix! He's #6!






After therapy we all headed to get our hair done, in Scott's tiny little Toyota Scion! He took my Expedition to Kansas City with some buddies, it was a tight squeeze! Anyway, Avery has been bugging me for months to let him get a Mohawk. Well Angie, Avery's stylist came over to me after the cut and she's like "Cammie, Avery REALLY wants a Mohawk, can I gel it into one for him?" Absolutely I say! Go for it! Now I have one very happy little boy with his gelled Mohawk! Mandy, Jarika's stylist, finally convinced Jarika to put some low lights in her very blonde hair. She looks gorgeous!

I forgot to mention that she can now sit up with just her boppy pillow!

Leaving :(

Well for the first time in 7 months I am leaving my babies! I am leaving tonight with a very good friend for a workshop in Tan-Tar-A. It's only about an hour away but I have never been that far from Addy! The other kiddos don't seem to care but I am stressed! I have Addy's daily schedule posted on the fridge for Scott (even though he knows it) so I know nothing should be overlooked. I'll also get some outlet mall shopping in which will be fun but UGH! Say a little prayer for the Heflin's so I can have some peace! I know they'll be fine, but I'VE NEVER LEFT ADDY! HAVE I MENTIONED THAT??? Wish me luck!

Yep, another surgery!

Well I heard from the pulmonologist today and he does want us to go ahead with the T/A surgery. They will also perform the bronchoscopy at the same time. Which is nice so she doesn't have to go under anesthesia twice. I should hear from the ENT in a couple of days as to when this will be scheduled. It will be in Springfield thank goodness! I also got a call from Jarika's urgent care dr. and the strain of strep was C. That means nothing to me but I've googled it, it seems to just be a rarer form. She is much better today and her throat's not as sore.
We got out of school early due to ice and snow. It was 72 degrees yesterday! UGH! We are predicted to get up to 10 inches tonight so most likely no school tomorrow. If we do get that much I am definitely going to let Addy have a heydey in it! I have got to find my cable so I can post video, I want everyone to hear her babble and laugh! It's too darn cute!
